Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
A continuous internal mechanism that monitors, measures and improves academic and administrative processes throughout the year.
About the IQAC
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is established as per UGC and NAAC guidelines to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the university. Quality assurance at MIT University Sikkim is not a one-time exercise before an accreditation visit.

Functions
Academic Quality
- • Monitor curriculum delivery and learning outcomes
- • Conduct Academic and Administrative Audits (AAA)
- • Review examination reforms and evaluation practices
Data and Documentation
- • Maintain an institutional database on academic and administrative activities
- • Prepare the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR)
- • Coordinate data submission for NIRF, AISHE and UGC returns
Feedback and Stakeholder Engagement
- • Collect structured feedback from students, faculty, parents, alumni and employers
- • Analyse feedback and place action-taken reports before the authorities
Capacity Building
- • Organise workshops, seminars and FDPs on quality enhancement
- • Promote research culture, publication ethics and innovation
Composition
Chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, with the IQAC Coordinator/Director, senior administrative officers, faculty members, and nominees from management, local society, students, alumni and employers — as per NAAC guidelines.
AQAR Reports
The Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) is a yearly report prepared by the IQAC and submitted to NAAC. It documents the university's quality-related activities, achievements and improvement measures for the academic year.

Current Status
MIT University Sikkim was established in 2024. As a newly established university, AQAR submission commences after the university becomes eligible for and applies for NAAC accreditation as per NAAC's eligibility norms. Reports will be published here for public access as and when submitted.
